plastic resin. 3d printing is about to take over the world.

you might wanna rethink that idea
there are already technologies that allow for home recycling of pet for consumption by 3d scanners
and where theres a large market, theres gonna be more and more competition ....

hence plastic resins, the key ingredient to the competition.

thats not the market for the 3d printer, which is going to be a home market
like the home pc

i doubt such a market even really exists
manufacturers generally move to a stronger material than plastics when strength is an issue
and if such a market does exist, the 3d printer isnt going to have any noticeable impact on it

facepalm
the 3d printer is just now being released to the general consumers of the world. they have had it for years. you can melt down all the coke bottles you want, if you want to print a 3d gun for example you are going to need high density polyplastics which come from the advancement of plastic resins. what came first the coke bottle or the resin? you arent investing in the competition you are investing in the controlled variable of the competition. i could bet on who is gonna score the goal, or i could bet on the ball itself scoring.

what ?
you honestly think theres gonna some kinda massive and sustained printing of weapons ?

tell me about all the everyday uses that most 3d printers in a household that are going to require a plastic 100x more expensive than recycling their own waste plastic ?
shit, theres more likely to be a greater market for selling an additive that strengthens home recycled plastics, than one for buying more expensive plastic itself

myself, id be looking at the market for dyes for consumers to colour their creations ( using a predominately clear or white recycled plastic )
next id be looking at printer and recycling machine parts, after all ,if 20 million households own a printer and recycler .....
then id be looking at schematics, the schematics themselves, the ownership and licensing of them, the distribution and sales of them

all you're talking about is a niche market ......

dude 3d printers are replacing production of so much industrialized bullshit its not even funny. im not talking about the people going out to buy 3d printers they are like 15k for some of the nicer printers. i am talking about the fucking bond used in the creation of 3D prints. i see no arguement that would sway me from thinking i want the hardest most rugged plastics available when recreating parts for machines opposed to melted down coke bottles and a pocket full of dreams. there is nothing niche about it they are still in the earliest stages of the footprint they are going to leave on the industrialized world. do you even know what purpose 3D printers were designed for? apparently not since you think the value market of plastic resin depends on how many at home owners of 3D printers there are.

the home market is the real market
if manufacturers wanted to make cars out of plastic, they would, they dont need a fucking 3d printer to do so
cost doesnt prevent manufacturers from making parts in plastic, vs metals ...

there are going to be many niche markets, but the profitable ones, will be ones that dont use plastic .....
biotechnology firms stand out in this regard so far, but im sure more applications will be found in time

think in terms of the home pc
imagine every household that has a computer, also has a 3d printer and plastic recycler
this is your basic market
