BTC is the cucked old gen crypto.

It has basically no functionality that is relavent besides being the most well known cryptocurrency.

In the very long term BTC is going to go the way of Myspace and Eth has a chance of sticking around.

But this has been the conventional rhetoric for some time, why now the divergence?

Thats normal, the market is always anticipating next things, etf eth spot is the next narrative for now. I bet next ones will be sol and xrp so watch them out.

I personally swapped like 20% of my btc into eth last week. Almost best timing at 0.05 something.

It's the most secured network and in the long term blackrock and their friend are going to send it quite high imo.

I ain't either, only sold alts during nov/dec/jan, but I've shorted btc 2 days ago at 48.5k, hedging is the best in those period of times.

In what way is it the most secured in a meaningful way?

As far as cryptographic security, BTC is massively over-secured. It's not hard to secure something such that it would take several universal lifetimes to crack. BTC goes massively above and beyond that but in practical terms that doesn't actually add anything.

The only way Eth is going to ever get breached is if too many of the nodes are controlled by one person now that it's proof of stake.

Security against a take over of the blockchain from accumulating mining power, or against some kind of cryptographics attack?

A 51% attack would cost too much, so yeah more like controling btc production and eventually later blocking some transactions.
Blackrock is investing massively into mining companies. I can see a btc war coming between china and usa, both are now top 5 btc holders i believe.

from what little I know btc and pow are more secured than pos, which are more scalable in return. it's the classic but still unsolved trilemma between security, speed and scalability.
there are also aspect of technology itself but i'm not a dev or anything. i just know sha-256 is considered quite robust and well coded.
