index funds are in a weird spot but u have certain sectors /stocks still so beat with plenty of room for upside

But as long as crypto is holding, index funds will also hold
Imo

Idk about certain sectors - REITs are the only one I can think of that is still at an attractive entry point. Small caps have ripped, energy and financials are up, too.

Or, of course, invest more in my home market and EM. But my main fund is a global index so I'm already diversified against a US market that has priced in everything going to plan next year

Biotech still beaten up, bjt don’t think the worst is over

Over seas markers I agree with u are definitely worth a look. Which euro funds are you looking at or do you have?

I mainly invest in a global all cap fund so I don't invest a lot in specific European funds, but I have a bit in the FTSE 100 right now. The div yield is 4% and earnings growth is good by European standards. It's also near ATHs (not surprising given poor returns in the last 20 years) and is likely to improve on that. Upside and downside risk is somewhat capped.

There are a lot of really good European stocks though. Novo Nordisk, AstraZeneca, EssilorLuttoxica, ASML, BAE Systems...to name a few.

British American tobacco is a pretty good dividend play if you don't mind sin stocks. I got to load them up earlier this year.

Big question is how long can they really keep that 7% dividend with declining revenues

People will always smoke but the latest gen is the most anti tobacco gen of the post ww2 era

It will eventually go to zero when their customers die (who they are actively killing with their products) and smoking gets regulated even more. Wouldn't buy it if the dividend was 15%.

Tobacco companies aren't as bearish as people think because they're diversifying their products and smoking globally isn't going away but they aren't buy & hold forever stocks like they used to be. I tripled my BATS position at over 10 % dividend yield and I'm gonna keep it for few years. Dividend investing isn't really my focus but I like that BATS is quite recession resistant. I understand why people dislike tobacco companies but I used to smoke Lucky Strikes and now I use Zyn or Velo so it's not a big deal for me.
