I tried QQQ again today, b/e again. Better than losing I guess lol. Nice TSLA trade :)

I think simulator is good idea to get your feet wet but you don't get the emotional reps that come with real money. If you find something that seems to be working I'd consider switching to real money and small position sizing. Style of trading will really depend on what speaks to you and your schedule. There is so much information and strategies out there it's hard to recommend one over the other when you're still trying to figure things out. Just don't buy into any of that nonsense get rich quick schemes!

nice man, better than in the red. i'm about 70% winning for this week, got annihilated by cvna puts (iv and theta took me to the ringer). gonna stay away from those for now

yes that's so true about the emotion and position sizing. it's so much more different when you got your hard earned cash in the trade.

those emotions with real money while trading act as mobs that you kill to gain experience. when paper trading, it's like you just completed hell and went to a normal game and are killing a quill rat over and over

I jumped chatroom to chatroom with bad results

That's pretty funny your d2 comparison to trading haha. No luck yet for me this week in terms of day trading. Took a little over a year off from that, trying to get back into it now. Did some extensive back testing for a pattern I like. Have good results from that but going live this week hasn't all that great lol.

However am enjoying the big move on AMD today!

haha i wrote a long comment on reddit months ago after i got tilted from trading on lightspeed. i drew parallels from trading to diablo 2 and finding rare items. after reading it back, to this day i have no idea how i did it at the time. the psychological effects from trading has no limits

AMD's rocket was incredible. gratz man. i'm still full cash just grinding out my options cash account.

i'm a doomer bear, so not going back into this market for a while

Haha that's pretty good! Amd turning into a nice win, only a handful of shares but I'm long from $60! I moved the position to my buy and hold account I don't anticipate selling at all.

What type of strat is your options trading? Matt Diamond style scalping premium?

wow, from $60?? that's 🤑 right there

yeah the opening range break stuff is my bread and butter. allows me to be done for the rest of the day as well.

personally, i don't view charts through the lens of technical data (most are full of buffoonery), but more of greed and the "story they tell". that story is also paired with a huge rubber band.

each time i look at a chart, it's like reading a book. once you start to comprehend the story, you can dive in and join the author. but you need to make sure to always leave. because the longer you're in it, the more awkward it would be (in this case, it's risk)

for greed within day trading options, i view percentages gained as item rarity on a scale. 1-3% is like a magic item, 4-8% is rare, and 9%+ is like a unqiue. anything above 20% is finding a damn ber rune. at that point, take the money and run

I may look into it again, those range breaks can have really good moves. My RL buddy trades them pretty well along with bull and bear flags for scalping momentum. He’s actually the one who told me to watch Matt Diamond’s content. I always ended up buying tops and selling bottoms. He had a good eye for the stuff, me not so much haha

Another d2 analogy that’s pretty good

Guess that makes my AMD holding finding a jah & ber in the first few hours of reset haha.
