My stocks are total fucking winners or total absolute losers

Like no in between

Sadly I have no individuals anymore with the exception of like 2 and meta isn't one of them. Oh well. Keeps the S&P and Total market ETFS propped up.

Added a position in NIO and re-entered BABA

Don’t let me down China.

You will have last laugh I’m sure

Mpw is an interesting ticker. Medical reit with a ~30% dividend looking like it will go under

i have absolute losers for the last 2 years, such a wasted potential - if i sold the bagholders i probably could have made up the losses by now. guess im working hard.

so much wasted opportunity of compounding.

in canada we have tfsas, i started investing in it in 2015 and have maxed out until 2023 (have taken about 50k out to buy my house), but, if i had just invested the contributions into the s&p 500 index from 2015 onwards id have 165k+ today in there.
cumulative contribution room is 95k, right now im nearly even on contributions so haven't lost principal but fuck me lol

Idk much about Canadian index funds. But yeah I think if you want safe compounding American markets are the way to go. If you want some risk can add stocks or developing markets. China can’t go much lower imo

Famous words tho lol

i got into a bunch of small cap Canadian stocks (blackberry, corus aviation, etc.) some were doing well before the pandemic and paying healthy dividends and had steady growth, but have just died since then and now im bag holding for 2-3 years now.

US equities are just crazy. Canada is lagging behind everyone. the problem is now that i have a house, no funds for contribution to start investing heavily again into the TFSA and get that contribution room and total balance up before the Canadian gov starts capping it.

Just disappointed in myself because if i just held the index like i used to i would have been so much better off lol.

You’re young and have all the time in the world

Important lessons learned early. And you got a house which is already above average for our generation.

We have all made mistakes. I lost a good amount shorting Tesla in 2019 at all time lows. Ya live and ya learn

You got this my friend :)
