Fintech is just getting rekt (again)

I have big bag of PYPL @ 62

I’ve averaged down but I’m overweight this stock now and need to trim position , average now at 57 but I’m not willing to add more to this ticker

Honestly just trying to stay objective:
-Economy that is strong by gdp/employment standards, beat in gdp at 4.9 again today
-hiking cycle closer to the end than the start
-10year treasuries at critical resistances
->80% of S&P beating earnings including revenues

There’s more

Versus recession and macroeconomic fears

There is always going to be SOME macroeconomic fear. In 2022 we had to quarters of dropping gdp, this is by definition the recession that is being forever forecasted

I’m still long and will throw money into the furnace. If I’m wrong and lose my ass I still have a job at least

If you lose your ass you still have shares and you're 35 years old. All the time in the world. Keep tossing in that furnace.

wish i was 25 again and had the last 7 years of compounding back. i squandered trying to day trade and time the market while too busy to keep track.

if i had just done my tfsa contributions, from inception, into the S&P 500, id be at 170k or so.

right now, im holding a massive bag on alibaba because i bet big on china after covid and was wrong lol

I am fortunate enough to be sitting north of that in my TFSA even with my china bag being in it (KWEB). But I attribute that to maxing it out as fast as I could when I started working and those years from 2016 forward with the majority in the S&P500 did well, and i'd have significantly more in that account if I myself didn't think I was being smart / cute deviating and catching the falling knife that was China.

Life lessons are decent when they come early like that though.

still really good. i had to take out about 50k to put into my house and still have about 25-30k invested with approx 30k+ in the bag lol and carried forward contribution room. I don't want to sell it at a loss and move on so just holding. I definitely played it wrong - like you said, life lesson learned lol.
