Do you prefer SQ or PYPL with an unknown new CEO inc

not bazi, but i just don't see paypal going down the tubes. as a programmer for nearly 2 decades that shit is the OG of payment methods and it's everywhere. think of it like gas cars but on the internet. i think it'll be around for decades far after we're gone. integrated in so many systems already too

i learned to only do 1 0dte per day. i saw this video where this guy was scaling SPY 0dtes based on the movement of the stock and got annihilated real quick ($900 loss). his yt is physiotrader. fck that, if i'm scaling i'd rather do it with shares so i don't get gaped by premium decay

if i start to hit for singles throughout the day instead of going or a homerun, i'm always more profitable. every damn time too which is weird. def some philosophical bs at play there

Yeah I mean some of the gains are just crazy. I’m too old for it I prefer safer methods. When I use options as insurance as opposed to primary $ method is when I actually profit on them. After few years of painful trialing I have just focused on sticking with what works. For options it’s weekly/monthly , no daily or leaps, and in the money at purchase. More expensive but have been consistently profitable, less theta and Vega fuckery

They are similar but I prefer PayPal because
-more familiar with stock levels , when to add and trim
-more familiar with the company overall strengths and weaknesses and overall model
-established track record of being dynamic to environment and not being stuck on one app
-there is more institutional ownership

i read somewhere that's what options were primary used for (insurance and hedging part) then it got transformed into basically glorified lotto tickets. now the 0dte stuff on spy/qqq is insane lol. i have only been trading little over a year, so def don't got that much experience yet

tangentially, these juicy 4 week t-bills are quite insane though. i might do something with them but don't think they'll stay this high

Yeah when I first started them I just thought they were a golden ticket before I was quickly humbled… and humbled again, and maybe another time

I just do the basics. DCA index funds in all retirement accounts nothing more nothing. In personal brokerage since I’m so index heavy in retirement accounts I try to stock pick. Largely buy and hold and use options (small percentage) strictly for insurance /hedging.

Yea.... they’re globally known and used also, which not many other companies can do yet

Thx... i feel like their business is similar but SQ is more adventurous with their future plans and having Jack Dorsey as an X-factor CEO (like a Zuck or airbnb CEO dude, theyre a special breed). I hope PYPL finds a great new CEO.

Anyways im still deciding which to jump back into but waiting for both stock price to settle down first... dont wanna catch another knife
