I'm actually doing some work on GM for my capstone mba. They are essentially pledging that by 2035 they will only sell EV's. GM stock price has been on a real tear for the last year.

The issue with the legacy makers is Tesla has a real lead in the race, in battery tech, name & marketing recognition in the 'cool factor' etc. It's like all of the smartphone companies chasing Apple. A real game-changer would be Apple coming in with its big dick and putting some rando car maker like Hyundai into the spotlight.

is the GM pledge to sell pure EVs or gas/electric hybrids?

I've got...

FIRE.to @ 0.32
GORO @ 2.86
ZOM @ 2.34
JAG.to @ 7.80

Some of you seem fairly knowledgeable at this. Thoughts?

The endless barcoding on FIRE is annoying. The last Q report suggests a big turnaround in works. ZOM should do well when product launches? The mining companies I'm not sure if I just got in at the wrong time.

General Motors plans to completely phase out vehicles using internal combustion engines by 2035, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra announced Thursday. The automaker will go completely carbon neutral at all facilities worldwide by 2035.

Barra has frequently touted GM's plan for “an all-electric future,” recently increasing to 30 the number of pure battery-electric vehicles it will launch by the middle of this decade, but this marks the first time the largest Detroit automaker has set a hard target for completely phasing out gas and diesel engines for all light-duty vehicles, including pickups and SUVs.

that is big news then and might spell long term stagnation in price for tesla compared to what some people think. not that 800 was sustainable long term anyways imo.

I agree I somewhat panicked and bought high I did not want to be left out. I'm a little scared with ZOM if the release doesn't turn into sales and.or contracts they're worthless.

I'm seeing all my stocks as 6mo - 1 year holds. Appreciate the input.

even if the rollout isnt super successful they're still the only player in a tech heavy space that moving forward will be a widening sector. might be a good 10 year hold even if they can branch out into some more products.

honestly not sure. if the whole market takes another hit maybe, but we're getting close to everyone's expected MOON so i doubt it.

for a long position could wait for after the product release pump and dump, might go up to like 4$, correct back to 2$, then climb slowly back up to a more stable price by years end.

but i was a bit shocked my the latest dip, so what do i know lol
