I thought he meant he got 2400 shares at 7 cents per share given where he placed the dollar sign, no dollar sign in front of the 2,400. I also still suspect that is what he meant.

I think you're saying he bought $2,400 dollars worth of shares in which case he bought 34,285.71 units / shares (2,400/ 0.07) . Todays market value of that many shares is 61,714.29 (34.285.71 shares * 1.80).

I am saying he bought 2400 shares. He has 2400 shares on hand with a value of 1.8 per share (2,400 * 1.8 = 4,320)
