I was able to buy over my margin limit by buying in lots of less than 5 shares. So I had 5 shares total and sold 2 of them once it went up a few percent so I wouldn't be over my margin over the weekend.

Not a pump and dump. When you pump and dump you leave a regular investor buying the shares holding the bag. This is a short squeeze / gamma squeeze.
