They're a hedge fund worth billions of dollars. They're "allowed" to do virtually anything. If the SEC was actually enforcing their rules on these huge funds they would have nailed them at some point in the past couple years for manipulating the market by taking 150% shorts on GME.

You may not want to exit AMC just yet. Up 28% in overnight, and the lulz money might start moving from GME to AMC and BBBY today. I don't know how long the huge spike in GME overnight will hold, but it can't be for more than a day or two, tops.
