Are you talking stock options OPTIONS or just common stock in general? Trading options (puts and calls) can be riskyyyyy, but good if you can get lucky (or at least know how to use a stop loss).

The correct answer depends on your risk tolerance and when you need the money.

You want to buy a house within 5 years? Keep it in a high saving account.

If you can miss the money for 10+ years put it in indexfunds/etf

Start by reading some books.

Nobody can predict the stock market unless you have actual inside information. But you can keep the costs low.

Ignore all the noise and doomsayers

I would recommend

1) Boring approach: 100% indexfunds
2) Fun approach: 90% indexfunds, 10% stockpicking and/or crypto

I’m doing the boring approach. Investing should be boring IMO. If you are looking for thrills you doing it wrong. But its very hard to fight the urge to go stockpick. I’m fighting it everyday.

I’d add another option. If I would guess, raw physical high energy processed materials like glass, metal, aluminium and land/forest will all outperform the stockmarket the coming 50 years. Fertalizers will go strong aswell.

Private crypto assets will never be the future.

Stockpicking is for beginners/consumers unless you influence others and trade short term. Indexing is the one and only route, diversity is key.
