in the clone wars (between episode 2 and 3) anakin gets an apprentice, ahsoka. she isnt featured in the movies. her character is critical to anakin’s development and growing distrust of the jedi council etc.

and yeah hayden’s portrayal of anakin has grown on people over time, but man he got slammed during the movies. i think he did fine in episode 3, but the dialogue in episode 2 was so bad i dont think anyone could salvage that lmao

Interesting

Yeah the script was awful in ep2 and parts of ep3. I think the trilogy should have been centered around obiwan given he was the consistent actor in all 3 episodes

We're in a bubble, I just don't think there will be a big crash considering the low delinquencies and interest rates. There may be more of a stagnation over the coming years as geared companies with lower interest cover and delayed capex spend struggle to increase their earnings post-pandemic. I won't be divesting but I am looking into investing in watches as my equivalent of a store of value purchase like gold or bitcoin.

George Lucas is one of the worst directors ever no lie. His dialogue writing is very poor as well.
It does not help that one of his biggest reported weakness as a director is a rapport with actors. The prequels suffered so much by having him do everything and not delegating some of his weaknesses.

JLC is a great brand but I'm not clued up on models that appreciate in value other than limited editions which are really hard to get

Pateks are notoriously hard to acquire at retail. You've got to have years of purchase history, a personal relationship with the AD and $40k+ to spare in cash

Going to build up a purchase history with an AD on a few models mainly in the $2-4k range that will hold their value then move onto Rolex and limited editions eventually

I really get irked when I see stuff like this. It's not the sentiment that bothers me but the people who it comes from. People and companies who literally have nothing to lose from increased climate change regulations. That's great Tim, we know Apple wouldn't be adversely impacted at all so it's easy for you to get on your high horse. How about you maybe speak up on things like the labor force participation rate going down due to technology eroding jobs? How about the top 50 tech companies use a few % of their earnings as the basis for UBI? Oh, that's right that would actually negatively impact your company so you chose to white knight for popular social causes that don't hit your pocket. Stunning and brave.

Apple Inc Chief Executive Tim Cook on Saturday called on governments and businesses to implement stronger climate targets starting next year, during remarks at the United Nations’ Climate Ambition Summit.

“We call on companies and governments around the world to do all we can to make 2021 the year we turn the corner for good,” Cook said, according to prepared remarks seen by Reuters.

Labour force participation rates are very high, the idea that technology and automation results in widespread unemployment is not an evidence based opinion. The internet has caused irreversible damage to brick and mortar retail jobs but created many more jobs since: https://www.mckinsey.com/featured-insights/employment-and-growth/technology-jobs-and-the-future-of-work#section%202

Yang offers a solution (UBI) to a doomsday scenario that doesn't have a basis in reality. There should instead be schemes designed to retrain workers in disrupted industries.

e/ there is also data on participation rates here: https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/employment/labour-force-participation-rate/indicator/english_8a801325-en#:~:text=The%20labour%20force%20participation%20rates,percentage%20of%20each%20age%20group.
