I was doddling through Snap Inc.'s last 10K for fun and you contrast it to all the trash articles from seeking alpha motly fool etc.,all these titles saying blockbuster earnings, price targets of 45+ and you see the growing retained deficit, loss of cash on operations, huge losses year after year. But hey revenue is growing.

What a dumpster fire.

They're hoping they get acquired by Google or something and they can then be made profitable? It took a long ass time for youtube to become profitable, that might be the only route for something like that to survive long enough.

There was a time when I might try to be short some of these names based on their trash financials but no longer so. For some of these having a large market share via subscriptions or daily unique users, etc. are the real metrics to use.

I think the market will overlook financials for growth companies for a long time as long as their subscriptions are growing or they have a very high TAM with the company only scratching the surface.

Since I can remember I have been drawn to real estate for its tangibility. Stocks like SNAP only push me further that direction.
