im nervous on ENB with biden going in, likely more road blocks for pipelines.

My first job was at an Enbridge Plant in high school. Cleaning giant tankers, grunt work.

I can't imagine they'll do well the next 4 years.. They're going to get regulated into the ground.

Buffett started positions in some large-cap pharma companies in Q3. I have literally no exposure to pharma companies and was thinking I should buy 1-2 companies for diversification as long term holds. The fact that we have one of the largest demographics retiring and will need lots of medication is also something that makes me bullish on this industry over the long term.

Mostly looking for mid-large caps, don't want to go into volatile small caps that move 50% on news of stage 2 trial results.

I'm starting by looking at what Buffett bought with Merck, Pfizer, Abbvie, and Bristol Myers Squibb. Pretty much all of these companies are flat or slightly up for the year but they have a fairly nice 2.5-5% dividends.

What are you guys holding as far as pharma and why do you think they're good long term holds?

Astra Zenica and Johnson & Johnson. AZN is just a beast, JNJ have a good SOFP

JNJ is always very steady. doesn't flex one way or another. You can just take a look at the past year or two - including the March Mess. They didn't dip that much, and then they wen't straight back up.

I'm thinking about AZN at the moment. Waiting for a a good dip to buy.

I also had little to no exposure to anything Pharma or Health Related. When the virus hit I harvested losses from an S&P ETF and moved some money into VHT. They are different enough that the losses are not deemed superfluous losses from the sale and reallocation and thus I can use the losses to reduce my capital gains at tax time all while essentially just reallocating to another ETF.

Buffet was wrong. New apple phones don't come with chargers. Revolutionary! Accessory sales increase.

Samsung is following.

Bunch of bastards.

Remember when they came with headphones that you didn't mind destroying at the gym. Those were the days.

A company that has done well for me is Onex Corporation. If you want some exposure to airlines they own WestJet but their primary function is private equity so WestJet is just a small portion of the portfolio.
