What u mean tho you lost your premium ? You collected the premium the minute you sold the put

Yeah, when you sell calls or puts. You collect premium.

So you keep premium and Assigned Shares at that strike price.

But because you are using a paper account. Sometimes it doesn't work properly.

Best to learn the concept and use actual money.

Yea, so on Friday i sold 7 more puts on Sofi. Its not given me the premium outright and basically because the stock went up slightly I got "some" of the premium but 90% of it still isn't in my paper account. Its almost like I only get the premium if the trade expires in my favour.

But from what you are saying i should get the premium instantly?

Thanks for the help by the way. Still learning.

Yep when you’re selling puts or call, you immediately collect the premium (as soon as someone buys the option you sold)

Ended up sending the support team a message. They confirmed the options in paper trading accounts automatically expire and do not support the exercise! Thanks for the help, glad its finally solved lol.

Guess ill just have to open an account and stick some money in to play around with options trading.

Pretty OTM, What expiration date?

Make sure you look at call/put walls, would be surprised how few options traders look at those
