Does Amazon offer a comparable service? Like I said, stupid questions but I haven't been in a place where I can get free shipping or any sort of service in years.

Google is what I have. I see Amazon, same day grocery and food but the selection looks awful and nothing fresh.

its only a matter of time before amazon has an optimized platform for non-produce grocery.

including automated re-orders of specific items, diapers, toilet paper, etc all set to timers.

in time perhaps even produce, but their purchase of wholefoods all but confirms this is the direction they're headed.

they're just not there yet in terms of robotic multi parcel packaging and shipping. soon.

They already have that in the form of subscriptions.

I get 48 monsters every 3 weeks.

If were living in a delivery world and were at work how are things being dropped off?

Is there a world where detached homes all have physical drop boxes and your drop box has a digital lock that is connected to each of your individual vendor accounts (Walmart, Amazon, etc) and the person or robotic delivery device scans a swipe card or device that unlocks the box.

I understand things are dropped off now on peoples steps and front entrance, but how do we go forward if almost everything we consume goes the way of delivered to your home.

Plenty of patents out there owned by these big businesses for dropbox services, where you can set one up for your neighborhood or for your own home personally.

They'll figure it out. Most people don't live in a place where their groceries are going to get stolen.

That is true but many live in a place where you don't need to lock the door at night. But we do.

yes for certain products, mainly bulk items, they do have that already.

but im talking an offshoot intra-amazon grocery specific platform, for prime members only, where even non-bulk items will be grocery store priced or cheaper. and most importantly shipping will be far more optimized with items nested in parcels, rather than tossed into an oversized box with a ton of packing paper filling the void of mostly empty space.

amazons pricing is currently priced in 2 directions, cheap because robotics handle almost all mid/large sized items from their sorting facility, and costly because of the parcel limits they currently have. give it time tho. i remember thinking a few years back powered roller systems would be the direction they'd go, and they proved me wrong in a big way.

I haven't lived in civilization in a long time is Walmart / Walmart + a real long term competitor.

I'm looking at their most recent 8K filing right now

(in millions)

Net cash provided by operating activities 22,880
Operating income Ending Oct 31 (9 months) 17,061
Consolidated net income attributable to Walmart (9 months) 15,601
Trade payables & Inventory is essentially an offset.
14B cash on hand with only 4B of debt facilities being current.

They would appear to be a continually growing juggernaut.

Congrats on the BAM gains, been following it recently but didn’t know enough about it to pull the trigger.

Costco announced a special dividend of $10 per share and price immediately jumped $10 AH. Question is will the price drop back after the dividend snapshot in December or will market see this as a sign of strength. I’m guessing there will be a quick sell after dividends are issued followed by more uptrend since it’s been doing well during covid.

standard cum dividend market reaction, don't overthink it
