so in my opinion, governments are unwilling to put a sharp end to the whole thing because this would harm the common man. I think they will let it slowly fade into nothingness instead, meanwhile working to undermine the core principles of the system, like anonymity, etc.
governments are old ass boomers that dont have any idea about the tech
torrenting is still a thing to this day, literally multiple decades later
and the only competition to it are just garbage services like netflix that are worse experiences
cryptocurrencies are working the same way as they are peer to peer systems
what they gonna do about it? build the cisco great firewall of china in that 1 american country and rest of the world gonna be like "yup, yall been shilling that chinese model so was literally just a matter of time anyways, freedom country my ass lol"
which even then, again, it's peer to peer
what's next, they gonna ban those vpn, cut those undersea cables and close off their internet from the rest of the world?
all of these because 0.24% of bad apples but fuck those other 99.76% yea?
so then let's also run signal jammers all around the country to prevent any means of communications and the creation of mesh networks
because everyday people are the terrorists, certainly not the governments doing all those attrocities in the name of "protecting this and that and fighting terrorism"
and if someone tries to reach to their family through mesh networks then they defintiely are one of those terrorist that are using terroristic illegal technologies
i mean, obviously am extrapolating, exaggerating things, going on skyzo unhinged scenario rents, but am i really? cause those scenarios been the case in some latin american countries with governments running signal jammers to prevent communications through mesh networks
those are not some far away hypotetical dystopian future, in some places that's already a reality for some
and those technologies are helping everyday regular people under oppresive governments
a fun
thread:
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=102967020&f=119the head of education tried to quote "we're from the government, we're here to help"
while the actual quote from past president was that it was actually the most terrifying words in the english language
well, it do be true
governments aint here to help and if they say they are then that shit is actually fucked
anyways, in all reality tho
when it comes to cryptocoins regulations, those are pretty much drafted by the chain analysis companies so they can make more money
funny how everything comes back to being about money, like, some political parties that are creating wars to make more money and so on... and then the pawns of general population ends up believing the lies and propaganda, it is how it is....
CEO of kraken (Jesse Powell) replied to this thread, laying it like it is:
https://old.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/r2tbs6/no_the_fca_has_not_issued_monerospecific_guidance/hm902ih/(SaaS would be for Surveillance as a Service if am not mistaken, so like ciphertrace (that been bought by mastercard, which obviously mastercard have that incentive to fud crypto), chainalysis and whatnot))

Exactly. It happens like this...
- Blockchain surveillance SaaS company: "Crypto is scary and dangerous. You should be extremely concerned because of <insert FUD>, confirmed by the media and legacy finance."
- Regulator: "Oh no.. what am I gonna do?"
- BS SaaS: "You're going to buy my surveillance solution, except it doesn't work on all the coins."
- Regulator: "But you convinced me that they're all super scary so what about the unsupported coins?"
- BS SaaS: "If you buy our junk, we can write up the language for you so you can effectively ban them until we figure out how to sell you an add-on for them later."
- Regulator: "cool. OK everybody, until BS SaaS sells us the safety add-on, follow these rules banning a bunch of coins, drafted for us by BS SaaS."

I can smell the hand of one or more Blockchain surveillance companies in the drafting on this document.
as a fun sidenote, couple days ago
shared some fun info regarding kraken and how it started its business by doing diablo 2 businesses

The point is lod wouldn’t be nearly the “classic” it was without botters. It became a huge money earner over time because of the constant rebuy of cd keys. it then became the pioneer in digital black market transactions which were largely made possible and scaled by bots and importing.
D2’s success is directly tied to the success of botting, black market sales, etc etc.
Without this, there wouldnt have been a d2r as d2 lod would never have survived / defined as a genre defining game.
Thank your botters. They made All this possible.
In fact, the big importers were some of the pioneers for crypto CEXs. One of which being the runner or the below importing sites (remove the xxxx’s):
LxxxxExxxxWxxxxT
D2xxxLxxxExxxGxxxIxxxxT
This site group created the crypto exhangr:
KxxxRxxxAxxxxKxxxxExxxN
Just type .com to the 2 above sites above and see where they redirect to. You can also check the LinkedIn of one of the founders of the crypto exchange above where he specifically has his founder title of the d2 item sites listed above.
The black market of d2 item sales pioneered much in the video game industry asnow developers realize the valuable asset isn’t the game, but the items/currency within, which was one of the pioneering ideas towards metaverses
It’s clear I know what I’m talking about and you don’t.
Thank your botters. They made all this possible.
which is such a fun coincidence that it's going full circle back to d2, like, literally few days prior i posted this regarding the bots and how it has similarities with cryptomining:

Yeh Blizz would ban hammer it eventually tho
Most fun I had on d2 ever was playing around w kolbot on LOD
honestly, same
some haters gonna call it "cheating" or whatever but they just have no idea
like, was running solo self found p8 games, not even trading, not even selling, just, gaming and actually having real gaming fun
like, at this point it's nothing to do with cheating but just a different type of game and game experience, in itself is just fun to build a whole 8 characters team and figuring ways to let them do their thing in the best way possible, keeping upgrading their gear and all
in a way it always reminded me of those warcraft 3 tower defense with like, the towers automatically clearing the waves (bots killing the mobs), generating the golds to upgrade the towers (dropping items to make the characters stronger)
and if not a morning person that needs that coffee before anything, waking up and seeing what fun drops they been getting during the night is something that be making the day a little bit brighter right of the start
i miss it, but it was also a massive pain in some aspects
like, the main reason i even started to check on the botting aspect in the first place was because blizzard wasnt even allowing us to play the proper legit way...
also.. just so dumb to not allow "vpns", like, every youtuber, their grandma and their grandma's dog are shilling vpn but no can't do on LoD...
anyways, back then only had 1 cdkey, no bot no nothing but kept getting realm down, temp ban and all literally because playing legit and doing countess runs or baal runs or whatever "too fast"
but the bots had the integrated timers to prevent getting realm down, so... thanks blizzard for pushing us into trying a different game experience i guess..?
but when scaling with more cdkeys it becomes a bit more tricky
so had to do the whole residential ip proxies instead, rotate cdkeys and whatnot, which again was because of those restrictions against actual legit players, like, for awhile was even playing legit without botting or what with partner at the time, so, same ip address and we kept having those issues because we were playing legit, so dumb...
anyways, i guess there was a point in my life that ended up just getting sick of blizzard bullshits and moved to a same gaming experience but for the irl
bots killing the mobs (computers mining cryptocoin blocks), dropping items to make the characters stronger (getting those block rewards to purchase more computers for more mining power and keep scaling)
and when solo-mining rather than mining in a pool, it's a similar rng experience when waking up and being like "oh yay, solo-mined a whole block during the night! neat! made the day a little bit brighter right of the start"

anyways, Ashirgo, u seem to be a gov shill and like, good for you tbh, it do be cringe tho
like, gov shills are literally one of the most cringiest people on earth, but yeah, all power to you
