What's causing these runs? Just people buying more coins? What instigates the initial huge surge?

combination of these catalysts IMO
- elon tweets
-possibility of doge being listed on coinbase soon
- a lot of crypto hype in general rn

but i mean more so of the surge on the runs, for example, 1 second its stagnant and then the next is up 20% in 5 minutes

do people just see green lights and volume of a few seconds and decide to jump in or is it just a conincidence that people all buy-in at the same time (for the initial jump) causing others to buy
