What does "a minor nursing degree" mean? You may be able to massively improve your income situation by looking for a job in a larger area with a lot of demand for healthcare workers.

Hes Canadian I believe, although I dont know what that means here either...
Hey guys,
When I mentioned my minor nursing degree, I may have misspoken. I have certification as a nurse's aide and have half the schooling credentials for my LPN - last year of that training has been on pause since Covid.
I can and have worked as a health care aide in hospitals, a Support worker in care homes and group homes, Have all my checks and vaccines, etc etc etc - Can work with Children and the elderly and can also do respite care and travel for home visits.
I am on a casual call list for 3 group homes(Same Company) in my area, but in my small town in Canada, there are only so many pick-up shifts there. I've picked up roughly 6-10 12 hour shifts in the past few months.
I have not really looked into what else I am able to do or what is available to do casually on the side with my credentials. I should do a little research...
I initially applied for a few jobs at the beginning of the Pandemic and I was working in my current desk job as a contractor for tax season for March/April.
I was not getting a call back about the hospital job and the tax office offered me full-time employment ( That's where I'm still at now, stable safe 8-5 Job ) So I took it no questions asked.
Been difficult admittingly to work so much on the side, even tho I'm at a desk all day, this has been one of the more tiring and challenging jobs I've done.
I have not even entertained the thought of moving to look for better work - Just never crossed my mind as I can't think how I could afford to move and find new appt or afford to go without work for a bit of time. I will look more into what is available out there tho.
Thanks again all. Tough thing this is.
