I just can’t imagine selling eth right now. Literally seems like the a top tier long term investment. Wish I bought more years ago at $100 lol

A world of competing currencies that aren't tied to governments and a monetary theory is uncharted waters in the modern world.

Eth, BTC, and other cryptos are certainly exciting, but nothing you can call a top tier long term investment. They are still basically gambling.

Na, at this point you can’t consider these speculative anymore. The tech is there. It’s understood. We wouldn’t have these new ATHs without that. Add in all the stimulus and it’s sense made. Way to bum hunt me on the forum though

I have long term positions on Eth and BTC.

this buy/sale is on Robinhood, where i buy/sell 1k$ worth of cryptos for swing trading just for kicks. currently 250$ up in the last month, and i got fucked on 2 five day long lockouts because i got greedy swing trading too near ATH and had to hold.

no fees on RH makes for a swing traders dream, but 100% not a good strategy for long term.

Without something underlying I can't consider them a long-term investment. That something is at an ATH doesn't mean it's a good investment. Often times it means the exact opposite.

Maybe. Show me this loop. I've seen the charts. What else am I missing out on?

firstly even saying "eth btc AND other cryptos" is off. BTC and ETH stand apart from the other two in price and blockchain adaptation.

secondly if you've seen the charts you can see on a long term its hard to lose money, its in the short term that it gets risky.

thirdly with institutions buying massive amounts being not tied to a govt doesnt matter, these players have billions staked into controlling the value and that works in the same way that a govt does to ensure its long term validity.

they just have more volatility, but have far less chance to go to zero than even established stocks.

buy the next 1k dip for ETH and you're all but guaranteed to go 5x in 4 or so years. id bet my life on that lol.

Btc being a simple decentralized curency is enough for it to be a medium.

Eth being a sophisticated platform to build decentralized applications is clearly the next big step.

It’s as if Thor has never read white papers, doesn’t see the problem with fiat currencies, and lacks basic computer science understanding

I dunno man. I look at the chart and the peak for Eth in 2017 looks like the peak now, so it doesn't really scream "guaranteed to make money"

The only thing here that's convincing is institutional buy-ins, but unless there's something that forces people to use it I don't necessarily think that's enough. Like, the reason the dollar stays a world currency is partially because you have to pay your taxes in dollars, which creates a minimum demand for trillions of dollars a year.

Idk, maybe? Gonna stick to just buying tech and bio stocks that I can understand for a while.

2017 peak of eth was massively inflated due to fomo. Same for ltc and other coins. It should have maybe hit 700. Since then it's behaved rationally. But as adoption of eth block chain rises and it will is going to scream up in value
