This. Through Fidelity, I think it starts at 1.80% and after 5 years its 3.20%...

So I'm not sure who you're looking into.
Keep in mind CD's do have risks. Though, all investments have risk obviously. Just make sure to look at the return/risk of each option and choose the most balanced.

E/Confirmed that is the rates through Fidelity. So if you see rates like that, maybe it's not a bad idea.

Some business ideas I've been thinking about

* Exporting cars to EU from US (once you know all the paperwork and requirements you can make at least 1000 usd per car)

* Bikes, buying bikes from a police auction(or any other auction), restore them and resell them for a nice profit

* Screwing new studs to winter tires (you can buy studs online)

* Being a "landlord" for an office-complex and renting rooms to small businesses for profit and with some sort of service included

... Got some more, just can't come up with them right now
