It's best not to invest in Bitcoin now, it's exchange rate is immensely volatile compared to any physical currency. In addition, the number of other cryptocurrencies that have been developed recently with even greater security than bitcoin such as Monero means that the relative worth of bitcoin might decrease in the future. It'll certainly hold less of the cryptocurrency market share as more are developed, and the market is pretty saturated with investors now already.
As for alternative investments, depends on how much money you've got to invest.
I'm wanting to just put $2,000 CAD into ethereum right now. But I want to make sure it's safe, and stored (long-term) somewhere that can't be stolen.
