What's going on with Time Warner?.. I have had stocks sitting in there from a custodial beneficiary account for like 30 years..
I think they just got bought by AT&T unfortunately. I've never moved their stocks around and they've made me a pretty good chunk, but I don't really understand all the terminology of this transaction.

Usually if a public company is acquired, the acquiring company buy up a certain amount of shares. Speculation of acquisition drives the price up since the acquiring company is required to buy them at market price.
