your "current folio" on your bitcoin thread are all non fungible, including bitcoin

like, at least few years ago people like you were somewhat saying they in it for the tech (even if not true):

but now yall aint even hiding it no more
you literally admiting that its literally just for short terms profit and the tech is a failure:
Quote (Melatonina @ Dec 5 2023 07:20am)
We all know these kind of profits will be illegal once CBDC's and schwab coin are there so this is your last chance

and that's the thing, in a world with CBDC and more control over non fungible coins like bitcoin with regulations and whatnot
bitcoin doesnt have a place in there at all
meanwhile monero was literally made to thrive through those times and keep being resistant to governments overreach

Nope, and every single token in my portfolio has destroyed xmr performance, beside BONK none are shitcoins and have way more traction than xmr so deal with it.

I'm in for both profits and the tech, what's wrong about it ? I already traveled to 3 countries with bitrefill and will keep using this service in the future.
"These kinds of profits" obviously refers to the market getting bigger and bigger after each cycle, means your %ROI will decrease over time. Why do I even have to explain that seriously ?

I don't believe a second in a society where all cryptos are banned to the point that xmr is the only solution. If that would happen xmr would face much competition and would certainly not be the winner there anyways.
I rather believe both cryptos and cbdc's will coexist, as banning things are generally counter-productive and not even working.
Paranoïds xmr maximalist will tell otherwise but who cares, maybe that's the world they truely want deep inside lol

But well, fine, let's imagine that in the near future we're gonna live in some kind of orwellian society where only xmr resisted censorship of gov's.
We would be so fucked up anyway that it wouldn't make any sense to use it or not.
Getting banned from CEX doesn't help either for people to use it. Tx/s network's limit would also be a big issue. Can safely say that all of this won't happen imo.

I'm not for CEX and KYC mandatory stuff, but one needs to make concessions if the mass adoption is the goal.
Not like there aren't many other issues for crypto mass adoption anyway, such as ease of use and ease of getting scammed, to which monero does adresses absolutely nothing.

In fact it's even worse with monero since nobody could tell who stole your money and where it is now haha. stay mad newb

thought the explanations in OP was clear enough for you to understand what it was and that indeed none of your "folio" are fungible

look, this is already the present
not some speculative dystopian future of some kind
bitcoin already has a track record of getting censored and blocked

CEX are preventing people to actually use it, they don't want people to withdraw / send / use but just trade on their platform without ever sending to the actual blockchain, that's how they can keep the fractional reserve scam going and using customers funds for themselves
exchanges "cold wallets" are literally funds that they stole from customers that never withdrew / sent / used their funds

and funny you mention tx/s, monero straight from layer 1 literally can scale more tx/s than the mastercard/visa network (fun fact ciphertrace was also acquired by mastercard, literally can't make that shit up, dem bankers feeling threatened by monero)
still waiting for that math guy to this day!

meanwhile, bitcoin wish it could but few years ago the limit was what, 7tx/s maximum for bitcoin? while mastercard was like what, something like 50k/s or something like that?
so that's why bitcoin trying layer 2 bs with lightning, where the adoption on that? no one even using it, literally no one
instead of fixing their layer 1, they just making layer 2 that will ruin layer 1 security

Quote (Melatonina @ Jan 4 2024 09:06pm)

nothing wrong with DEX with proper UX for mass adoption, CEX are not a requirement for that
you can already exchange coins inside cakewallet through trocador integration, atomic swaps don't need to be some h4ckz0r l33t nerd thingy from the command line either, for example with serai (DEX) in the work, the integration of btc <-> xmr atomic swap is literally just seemless for the end user, they don't need to know wtf even is a computer or how to turn the computer on or what, that's what good UX is

so "chargeback scam" are not a thing? that's literally why so many people don't use paypal anymore

I already adressed this issue .. it's not about btc but us gov as usual.

You're the one delusional here, thinking xmr will be one day mass adopted via DEX lmao. The avg citizen will never use these things, too complicated. it is how it is and you have to deal with it.

Other than that, many others confidential tokens are much faster than xmr.
Lightning network is maybe just a first step towards better scalability for btc, nothing is fixed, even monero network has regular updates.

I don't get why you shill this old token so much, it's fine having a few % of your portfolio into it, nothing wrong, but all-in on this ? dumb imo

no idea where u "addressed this issue"
is not a us gov thing either

if someone purchasing flowers on valentine's day or whatever then the store owner cashing that bitcoin out into fiat and after a few exchanges of hands that bitcoin ends up involved into some criminal activity or whatever
that bitcoin is now officially "tainted" leading to investigation of the store owner, of the one that purchased the flowers and it's guilt by association even if literally did nothing wrong
that information is now public, the originating wallet is flagged as "linked to criminal activities" even tho it was literally just to buy regular flowers at a regular flower shop
and let's say, there's still like 2 bitcoin on that wallet, well, now exchanges are aware of it and won't accept funds from it
if trying to send them elsewhere, maybe the transaction wont even be mined due to those "compliants mining pool", which ofc is highly centralized on bitcoin

like i explained in previous post, nothing complicated for end user if the UX is done right then it's seemless, the tech thing is happening in the backend, end user is just being greated with a one click easy button
even easier than cex actually, cause cex gotta do all those extra steps for kyc scanning social security numbers, passport, your last colonoscopy scan, do the hoolahoop on 1 foot with a written note that you agree to the terms of services

sounds like you're the delulu one if u thinking that cex are good UX, and then when all that charade of kyc is done, when wanting to purchase something or send to someone "withdrawals temporarily blocked, try again later" (deposits still open tho), how is that any good for mass adoption? it's not, cex are literally the opposite of what's good for mass adoption

yup, updates are good, that's the thing tho, bitcoin refused to evolved, it could have, satoshi had great ideas to integrate, unfortunately it never happened since it has been hijacked and the development of it is pretty much "it's the way it is, it shouldnt evolve"
layer 2 solutions are flawed, am all up for bitcoin improving its layer 1 but it wont, that's why the chain split with bch few years ago, because the btc maxi in the cult don't want it to evolve, at all

it's not an us thing yet OFAC is us annoyance once again lmao. I'm pretty confident it will vanish over time, especially if we can get rid of biden's admin.

this shit only exists in 'murica the most degenerate and corrupted country ever, if anything like that would be generalized then we should make sure to not flag past wallets that's been "using" this same btc and that would be fine.
Us just need to calm down with being the gendarm of the world and everything will be fine really.

I didnt said that and good cex exists, I never had a problem withdrawing any amount using binance/kucoin/bitget and bingX/LBank for non kyc ones.

You're confused

1 second: Remote wallet can see the transaction has been initiated
3 minutes 46 seconds: Remote wallet displays first confirmation of transaction appearing in the blockchain
26 minutes: Remote wallet receives 10 confirmations of the transaction and considers the funds fully confirmed and unlocked for spending

So pretty much any other confidential blockchain lmao

none of those forks ever gave any sense of evolution compared to btc and they will literally all die within the next few years.
If that would be so easy to make btc better it would have been done already. Otherwise try your luck lol. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with (some more rage post ?)

Monero is just not a solution for an ease of use of crypto in a mass adopted society, and will never be.
Just look at this shit and imagine what it would be if we instantly switch all our moneys to monero, just dumb

well, i guess am the one that breaking it to you but... binance and kucoin are running fractional reserve scams and been constantly closing withdrawals (fake excuse of "wallet maintenance") while leaving deposits open (never heard of those other ones but they very most likely are as well are as well)
it has been documented over and over again, years after years, throwing links at you seems useless at this point so not gonna bother, but there's been multiple events over the years set up to expose those practices

yeah, you're obviously not a tech guy and havent followed the development of it on github, or back then with the mailing list, you're clearly clueless about all of it
that's what we get when aiming for "mass adoption", just a bunch of clueless people in it for the daytrading on their macintosh

blocktime is 2mins, no idea where you even getting to 3:46 (bitcoin blocktime is 10mins)
0-conf is enough for the daily cofee, it's still instant, you should try it instead of pulling some random numbers off your ass
