anyone nervous about this stuff?

If I had to renew today my mortgage would be 50% higher

crossing my fingers and hopping for the best by 2025

I live in the USA so my rate is fixed for 30 years.

When do you have to refinance? Canadian mortgage rules sound terrible.

i'm currently at 1.79 and the lowest rates available are around 5% now
we're expecting it to go higher

Yeah I wanted to do a HELOC but the rates are all above 6% now. Not a lot as far as historical rates, but much higher than they were. I got in July last year at 3.5%. Glad I did lol.

The home valuations worry me more than interest rates. Many will be upside down soon.

Home prices went up so fast that the only people who will be underwater are the ones with incredibly low down payments that bought in the last year. They're gonna need to crash by a solid 30% or more to put any significant number of people underwater.
