Wanted to see if I could get some strong ideas from the jsp group here.

I will be starting my FIN 599 Capstone pretty soon and still going back and forth about my thesis question to write about.

I will have to conduct quantitative research with a written report and presentation including data, research design, analysis, implications of the study, and a conclusion.


Possible Idea 1:
Has Technology impact the world of investing? (This is too broad since the topic is really large, but i felt more towards how mobile investing really lowered the barrier to investing)


Possible Idea 2:
What would happen if we replaced currencies with a tether tokens on the blockchain?
or some implication that blockchain is the solution to fix inflation?

(Something that involves blockchain would be pretty interesting to write about)


Let me know what you guys think. Basically my goal for now is coming up with a simple but powerful question that I can do a strong in-depth research on

Both are going to be very broad. BTW I hated capstone.

I know. That is why i'm hoping to get some support to really help near it down to one strong powerful question.

This wont be a quick simple answer but hoping to have some feedback back and forth until a question comes together from the discussions here

I want to be able to offer insights regarding the quantity of the impact, quantify the impact, and the data that can really back up my claim.

Write about which industries crypto could possible disrupt and why.

It wouldn’t be too hard you’d just have to read white papers for various types of coins.

For example chain link and smart contracts. Explain what a smart contract is, research which fields that’d be useful, do research on how much money can be saved, etc.

IMO that would be pretty interesting to read and double up as doing research on potential promising applications of specific coins which you can use to invest.

Stay away from the topic of ‘fixing inflation’. Inflation is desired just not too high , so that whole premise would lead you to some really wrong conclusions.

A lot of these are interesting ideas but the one that I feel would capture the interest of the class and your professor the most is the rise of China's e-coin. And how they can use it to conduct economic warfare and destabilize the USD as the main currency.

need a topic with a specific answer, i.e, Will cryptocurrency save us vs inflation.

or, is it time to decentralize banks

or, is it time to time for 1 world currency

The world currency as a global blockchain? that would be very interesting, would that make it better or worse since it would give less control to the ones in power.
