How much are they worth?

you can't sell points, you use those to get platinum points which are used in conjunction with gold to make "platinum" which you can then sell

The plat points aren't really worth much. You use them to turn in for platinum. I'd recommend you use them yourself. The plat points needed for platinum resets every day (next reset is in a little over an hour)

people have been selling fame tokens, those are worth quite a bit (60m each or so)

I just figured this out myself a couple days ago.

Platinum points are used to BUY Platinum Click on character at the bottom of your Elethor page, on the left side click Recyclobot. This is where you can convert your Platinum points + Gold into Platinum. The cost increases every time you buy 1 Platinum, and resets once a day.
