I want to mess around on version 1.03 on single player. So I’ve installed original D2, non-LOD, and found this cactus program that let you run the game on any version.

Tinkered around a bit and have version 1.03 running now. It looks OK in a small window but I can also run it fullscreen, which is super janky because I believe it’s forced to 640 x 480 which was the only option for resolution at that point.

I also found a hero editor. This thing lets me edit my character stats and skills and gold, etc. And quest completion, waypoints, crap like that. But it doesn’t seem to work for items. I’d like to be able to have access to various unique items. Maybe even roll random rares. Stuff like that. Is there another editor than anybody is aware of that I can use to do this?

Currently trying to gamble an ice blink just so I can relive the old-school days of whirlwind and freezing everything. Clearly not an ideal situation.

The game was so different during that first year. No runes, no elite items, no exceptional Uniques, no jewels, no charms, no synergies, no customizing mercenaries, on and on.
