I read the rules for this section, trying not to be out of line here. Mods please close if I'm wrong. According to the rules section if it just modifies MPQs it should be allowed to discuss here, and although I'm almost computer illiterate I THINK MPQs is mostly just graphics, -which is what I'm looking for here.

Is there a mod that will tell me if a rare or magical item on the ground is ethereal (without having to pick it up?) Ideally just something like... a (e) beside the text or perhaps a more grayed out version of the text for magical/rare items when they're on the ground?

I am talking about online play, not single player.

I believe I've seen this in a few screenshots in ft threads, someone sent me a link to something but unfortunately it was all in a language that I didn't understand (chinese) and it looked to be substantially more extensive than my limited intent, modifying a whole bunch of visuals and sounds that I'd rather just leave be.

Obviously for non magical items the text is gray. Sometimes this is helpful, sometimes it's just a troll because I pick up the item and its not ethereal, but rather just socketed. For magical/rare/unique items I have no choice but to pick the items up of the ground which 19/20 times it is NOT ethereal and really slows down the mf'ing session.

Any thoughts/leads/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks fellas.

Again, if I'm out of line here I'm not trying to be. If ANY online modification is against the rules then the rules post for this subforum should state that.

I think that playing with a modified MPQ online would be a TOS violation and you’d be subject to a ban.

I know that you can pretty easily edit the MPQ files with some easily found software online and then launch the game with your changes , but doing so online would be difficult since normally you’d launch your mods using -mod, -direct -txt.,…etc, but they made this not doable for online play (I think).

Its against the Blizzard ToS to use anything like this online. Ive seen plenty of pics of people using such mods, and as far as i know there was only 1 mass ban for them about 6 months after the launch of the game. I personally wouldn't risk it. It would be an AMAZING! QoL update that the devs could impliment in about 10 seconds but they never will.
