I've not actually played this but I had some questions maybe you can fill me in on.

okay so... i cannot answer everything because ive only been playing like casually for a week or so (just tryin to learn a bit before real launch and i heard about this game like a week ago)
so ill answer as good as i can for the questions i can...
Guild seems to be really important in this game.-----------------------i think so? i mean its also very important in most of those games? like guilds in these games always have huge boosts?
Daily Quests, pets, challenges?----------the pets are just a 'passive' gold/exp maker, like you can only train 1 action at a time right? like mining, ranged combat,cooking etc for exemple right? well pet always go on 'exploration' by themselves and give you a secondary always active action going on i guess is how i would explain it??? cause pets actions wont interfere with ur action cooldown or anything
Upgrading gear is crafting X amount of your current gear?---------------i mean kinda yeah, like to make a 'perfect' copper helmet lets say youll need 200-300 basic copper helmets (i forgot the exact number but yeh) then ull need even more basic IRON helmets to take ur perfect bronze to perfect iron etc so like to make a perfect silver (tier 3) helmet for exemple youd need something like 300bronze helmets+750iron helmets+2500silver helmets or something like that
Housing has 'stations' that can be upgraded like qs? --------------------yes, i havent really upgraded my own house yet so i cant tell you much about it but yeh theres some boosts to be had in houses, also theres alchemy skill wich you kinda 'need' if you wanna be competititve in exp rankings and crap because youll want to spam exp gain pots and stuff (on real launch i guess the market will be more active than rightnow on the dead about to wipe server... so maybe u dont NEED to lvl ur alchemy and u can just buy pots off market??? definitly will be a great moneymaker tho
Producing can be done while battling? -------------------- no... a bit like queslar i guess? u cannot be mining while also battling for exemple? theres mining skills and battling skills (even battling has sub genres like u can train ranged exp or melee exp or defence exp etc, think of it like oldschool runescape combat exp gain? u can turn on defensive mode or melee mode or archery mode etc to get that specific combat exp)
Gathering has a chance to cause battling?-------i think thats only if you do the gathering in the 'wilderness' or whatever its called part... really not sure tho, but u can definitly gather without having any chance to proc combat if u gather in the 'regular' section or whatever. so i guess u can be top lvl gatherer without combat lvls?
Does playing this require being a jack of all trades?-------------u can trade for everything as far as i know... so i guess u can do pure combat if you want or pure mining or crafting etc... but idk really personally since im just trying to learn the basics before it wipe ive lvled most stuff to like lvl 20-25+ lol

What is the base free autos? how hard is it to improve that?------------- refer to the answer above, if there is a maximum number of 'free autos' its definitly pretty big cause i can go to sleep like 8h and i dont think i lose action? if i do its not much i think? honestly i have no idea lol maybe check FAQ on the website or idk? u actually made me realize i never paid attention cause there wasnt a counter going down with each action afaik lol
