Downloading game now. What's a great way to start out? Basic gears. Do I need to buy some gold or silver.

Is anyone offering a starter pack? Are there any guilds to join or avoid?

Well one guy gave me a starter lesson. Took me into the black area and killed me. hahaha.

Avoid Redzones and black zones for now

blue areas= safe
yellow areas= non lethal pvp
red/black areas= full loot pvp

there is no linear guide to this game so it is whatever you wanna do really. gathering/pvp/pve/merchant/farming etc...

id buy 1 month premium and a few mil of silver to get you started so you can just go to auction house and buy all starter gear

Thanks guys. I have a good start. currently at about 1M fame. I haven't been able to best anyone in a duel. Well in practice duel I can win 1/10 times. Currently at t5 level and can hang in the red zone with one other person.
Anyone have any recommendation on best PVM build? Thanks!
