So my comp parts arrived and I could start playing the last few days... finally.

It funny what you say about the orcs/supermutants, cause i had exactly exactly the same
thought^^ "Lets put orcs in it, an RPG needs orcs" "But its a post-nuclear scifi RPG!"
"Not a problem, we just call them super mutants... and give em guns, of course"

I'm at downtown DC right now, and the game forces me through tunnels a lot.
I'm rather the friend of the sun guy (not talking about the perk^^) but... meh.
Speaking about the tunnel designs, I'm not that dissappointed. They're neither very interesting
nor overwhelmingly boring (so far), and at least they look quite realistic.

About the level scaling: it doesn't seem as annoying as in oblivion, maybe because the
leveling is more limited and works different (xp points). But also, i've seen raiders grow
stronger as my char does, without changing their look.

The storyline of fallout3 is not that great but the game is truly amazingly made.
The entire fallout world really comes over VERY realistic and its a must play imo, its truly breathtaking.

Back from playing^^
Time for a little review.

Indeed, Beth did a great job here, and this time this is not an impression that vanishes
after a few minutes of playing.
When exploring the world, you'll find many unique locations (not like Oblivion, which had like
3 different types of dungeons). The game world may be smaller than Oblivion's, but it's far
more interesting.
The quests are - what else - beyond questions. Almost every quest is complex and offers some
surprises as well as multiple ways of solving it.
Also, the level scaling is quite pleasing. You'll still see poor opponents in the later game, and
most of all they didn't make the mistake of giving plasme rifles to raiders. (I remember bandits
with galss swords and armor in Oblivion... lol those guys could have made a fine living by selling
that stuff).
Looks like Bethesda learned from their mistakes. Well done.

My opinion so far:
Fallout 3 >>> Oblivion
