I spent about 5 min last night writing up some general tips for anyone new to the game. I don't know everything, but I've got a good grasp on the game and 125+ days logged in. So take it for what it's worth, just tryin to help out the new guys.
You don't need high level guns at low levels. Without the nodes from the skill tree / research tree those guns do a fraction of the dmg they should be doing. You're wasting the mats.
There is no trade system in this game. Every trade is a risk. Know that before you start trying to trade. I suggest a fb group, less likely to get scammed that way.
The games a grinding game, if you can't do that don't play. Do mission after mission after mission till you're out of stonewood. Then do it again till you're out of plankerton. The do it again till you're out of canny.
When you unlock a new skill tree, rush for the survivor slots. That's where 90% of your plvl comes from.
Mthic leaders are the end goal. Matched with legendary survivors that match in slot and match bonuses. Till then you Want to prioritize rarity over slot matches till you've opened up the majority of the survivor slots.
Spread your survivor xp out. You get the same amount of plvl boost from lvling from 4-5* as you do from leveling 1-2*. So it's just costing more xp to level them.
You get about 80% of the mats you put into a survivor, hero, or schematic when you recycle them. (does not work for perk up or reperk)
Traps are your best friend. When doing ssd's if their not funneled through trap tunnels, you're doing it wrong. Google the spawn points of whatever ssd you're doing. (stonewood, plankerton, canny, twine)
The rule of thumb is husks will walk 3 tiles before breaking walls down to get where they want to go.
Ceiling traps can be put over husk spawn points, but not floor traps.
Stay away from trap tunnels to prevent triggering of ai.
Heros, they matter a lot. And so does the squad bonuses. Match them and level the the best you can depending on your play style.
Constructor - he's you're builder. Reduced cost to build, builds faster, comes with a base that buffs you're building.
Outlander - she's your farmer. Comes with a power punch to take out cars quickly. Some recharge faster than others. Has a base 6% chase to double loot found. Increased pick axe dmg. Llama fragments for building / crafting mats.
Solider - he's all dmg. High dmg output for your guns. Typically more health than others. Urban assault headhunter is bis at single target dmg.
Ninja - he's crowd control. Dragon scorch is hands down bis. Dragon slash recharges in 10 seconds. Has higher aoe and goes farther than any others. Clears all the little things. Not viable in canny - twine unless extremely skilled with it.
Stormshield.one learn is and utilize it.
If you have a blue survivor transform key you can reuse utilize it. 5 whites make a green, and 5 greens make a blue. You get mnauals for the blues.
