i can buy old crap and sell it but there is a 7 day trade delay now

There is no delay on PubG Items, they will be recieved immediately and can be immediately traded.
Couter strike Global Offensive items are only effected by this.
Other items from different games are not.

I'm confused as to why you felt the need to post this on here? Ofcourse you can buy stuff and sell it on... I am missing your point as to why you needed to point that out in this thread?
