It is far more versatile, it is devastating at short to mid range and can hold its own at long range, as i will generally avoid super long range firefights because it is smarter to do so i will pick up the m4 over the m16 every time i get the chance.

M16 does more damage. M416 is not nearly as devastating at all short range. AK+M16 take the cake for short range ARs.

But btw it's not about long range fights. It's about long range picks.
If you never shoot at people that are getting close to you then you always increase the chance of them seeing you and shooting at you instead.

If you watch all the best players you see them open up on pretty much anything within kill range.
You want to create an area of safety for yourself. You clear out one whole area that you can move freely in. Then you shoot at anyone that threatens that area before they even get near it so that you are always safe no matter what. Then you can advance your area in whatever direction you choose.

I seem to be one of the weirdo's that prefers the AK over any other AR. I don't know why, but I'm always more accurate at medium/long range with the AK. With the M4, I may as well grab the barrel and swing it like a bat, because I'm not hitting anybody at range.

Thats surprising. I cant use AK on auto at all though, moves around way too much for me. I sometimes will go with one if I already have attachments/scope for it, because I feel like it does the most damage per hit at range than other ARs. But with a m416, I can auto fire 100m away and hit most of my shots. This makes the difference between aiming once and re-aiming each time you shoot. With the m416, i can lock onto the target and shoot like 15 rounds at him and ahead of him. This will almost always result in an instant kill. But with the AK I cant shoot auto at range so, when I shoot at someone from distance, I have to keep re-aiming and by the time I hit them enough for a kill, they've already taken cover.

AK takes lowest hits to kill out of the ARs and that's why people like it for short range on auto
If you can secure all hits on center mass it's the best AR against lvl 0-2 body armor.
But if you're against lvl 3 armor or you're hitting some shots on arms then M16 beats it for dropping power

You shouldn't use it for long range because the bullet velocity is garbage so it's harder to hit shots and the recoil means you have to readjust too much between shots

/e the rate of fire on this AR is far superior. Not just the fire rate but the recoil is superb
