How Do People Look Up Where You Live And Your Name - Topic

I see a lot of people get really salty and bring up where I live and my name, how do they get access to that information?

my steam profile has my name and location but how do they get to my steam profile if its different from my game name?

um overlay steam (normally shift + tab) then view players/players met.
