With ingame ncoin yes you would use the currency exchange: ctrl+ c, or hit the icon bottom right of the screen.
with d2jsp you can just trade FG for gold through yes the AH, but this will take a cut. usually people do it through cross-dungeon, and just bid on a green item for however much gold they're selling.
