My answer is 100% accurate. It's not on me if you can't understand why.
Did someone modding level either character on either Account? Whoops, your account is linked to their IP.

you will get (8)'d if you use any type of third party programs. Maphack, pvp mods, leveling bots, mf bots, name bots etc etc etc

also, if someone else has a 3rd party program and logs onto your account, you are also at risk to be banned. If someone uses a baal bot and levels your account, you are at risk of being banned.

I have also heard of people being banned after buying names that were attained through a name bot, even thought it was botted by someone completely different.
