Either a program or plug in an external keyboard and use that instead, if it's feasible. I'm not on my PC right now but doesn't windows have a macro program already?

How old is old?
It should have a on screen keyboard already installed.
Go to Start , then select Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard, and turn on the toggle under Use the On-Screen Keyboard

Your looking to remap keys on your keyboard,
You can first try -
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-do-i-reassign-hot-keys-for-my-keyboard-703f897c-ad72-db5d-8e64-0928873d712f
Pretty much just remap those affected keys to whatever is convenient for your use
