I have been running 2 instances of d2r for awhile now and just purchased a third copy on a third bnet account .
I copied the original D2R folder contents and placed them in my newly renamed folder for the third and sent a shortcut to the desktop.
At first I loaded up both characters into a game, ran process explorer to close handle for the second instance so I can run the third.
I run the third .exe and it tells me 'This folder doesn't contain the correct version of this game. Please check the installation path and try again.'
I've uninstalled and reinstalled and recreated all folders. I've double checked all paths and they are linked to the correct folders. Can't seem to find any help on google when trying to find info about running a third D2R.
Hopefully someone has an easy fix. Thanks.

Edit: It also gives me the same error when I just try to run 1 D2R from the third folder.

I always had trouble running them from a shortcut. I always just open it from the copied folder.

Hmmm I would do a full reset of folders. Remake them all. Maybe uninstall and start fresh. Ive found just starting over can sometimes be faster

I did that as well with everything. Started completely from scratch twice. Still can't get the third one to load correctly.
