How can I embed a gif into a thread/post

I've attempted following this guide but it is meant for Images, and does not seem to work the same for Gifs. I do not know how to upload a GIF to imgur to receive an embed link like that

Do you happen to know of another guide fr posting GIFs?

It works the same for gif files as well. Just remember that the direct link must end with .gif
