How do I report a user for attempts at extortion? I know I can report a post, but I can't reports PMs. The other option is a "scammer accusation", but I'm not sure if this is only for actual trades and only if I did actually get scammed. In this particular case a user is sending me private messages, threatening and accusing me, while at the same time asking for 100 fg, so as not to "report" me. I think this amounts to blackmail and attempts at extortion. Someone else might have felt threatened and send them the 100 fg and who knows maybe that user does this to others.

Unfortunately pm's are not moderated. Just block this user.

OK, got it. That's what I thought, but it's a bit unfortunate, especially if others might have been affected or if this happens in the future as well.

Worry not, members of staff will notice if there’re users maliciously target reporting another user or abuse the report function and will take action against users who are doing so.

Also disciplinary action taken is not “automated” and every single report is carefully reviewed by our staff team, no rule-abiding member of the community has ever became a victim of a false report, your best option is to block the said user and report his posts if he ever harasses you in your topics.

Block the random user and move on. Attempted scams are not scams. Never send FG for something you didn't do.

You only need to worry about if you're breaking the rules yourself.



Lol, in a perfect world. It would be better if it was automated because rule-based algorithms have no bias nor any language barriers.

That’s an interesting subject there , whilst there are strict guidelines and professional standards we have to follow when moderating, we do so as “human” as possible as well.

When moderating we often look at different factors such as intentions, is the user a repeated offender, is the user rather new and if there was a trigger and adjust our approach and leniency towards reported cases.

not sure about that. ai is in a garbage state and can't detect sarcasm, facetiousness, and context that well. humans are infinitely better at moderating

in theory thats fine, in reality it doesnt work at all. you see, everyone breaks the rules all the time. this works for real life too, and the system functions just because no one really checks the low grade offenses. for example, even a court judge will from time to time forget to use the turn signal, cross the street where theres no crosswalk, or call someone a racial slur behind close doors. imagine how it would feel if you always had someone breathe on your neck, no matter how rule following you were

on jsp you generally wont be judged unfairly (unless you attack our dear leader that is, in which case you will get overblown sentences like a year lasting warn or complete ava/sig removal for random shit such as avatar copying etc), but our system works because for most things you wont be judged at all. no one cares if you do harmless shit like say happy new year in a trade topic or bump in 3h instead of 4 mods do punish that if they see it as its against the rules, but the thing is, they never see it. people know its against the rules, but its harmless so no one reports that stuff. its quite different if you have some little bitch breathing down ur neck so i understand OP's predicament
