No. It breaks the immunity then subtracts more res for more damage. Idk what the negative res cap is though but it's good to stack -res

its useless against non-immunes, but very impactful against immunes. If you are farming a zone with no lightning immunity you could use something else but I'd just leave it on.

From what i understand a sunder charm sets res of an immune at 90, its always going to be better than not having one vs immunes even if you can break immunity.
