Gifurgidoodle here. Am I correct that to change my name I have to pay about 50 US Dollars? This seems a little steep. Am I missing something?

I made this account 12 years ago when I was a preteen and I'm just embarrassed about my old name. Has anybody actually paid the 1500fg to change their name or do they make a new account?

Is making a new account against the rules? Gosh darn willikers. 420BigDaddy seems a little more appropriate for the new me.

I would consider spending 500fg, and would be happy spending 200fg on a name change but 1500 seems ludicrous. Am I out of line here or do others feel the same?

1.5k FG($50) isn't nothing. $50 is a tank of gas or food for 3 days. Compare $50 name change to any other service and it's pretty crazy. Xbox name change is $10, Play station is $10, Warframe is $12, to legally change your name in US it's $100. In comparison to other services its 5 times more expensive, and changing one's name on a forum is half as expensive as legally changing one's name.

Your comparison isn't exactly correct though. You can gain fg by playing games.

True. I play D2R. I have played an estimated total of 100 hours this month and if I sold everything I have accumulated I might just barely be able to pay for a name change. However I would value my time greater than (the equivalent of) $2 an hour.

Try not to view gaming and fun in terms of a wage. I know you used it as an example, but we can't put a price on having fun. It's scaled directly to our time which is a limited resource

I definitely agree. I would rather make myself stronger with my items opposed to have to convert all my time having fun playing diablo into currency to change my 10 year old name. That's why I brought up the real money value of the name change. If I use all my in game wealth to change my name then playing the game becomes like a job. I am trying to avoid that by paying for the name change but $50 is just crazy.

I can agree it's steep. But I do also agree that it's different then other platforms as we earn fg playing.
