Noticed that bumping&answering a topic no longer brings it to the top of the queue (search result listings)

is that intended or I do not understand how that works?

Intended if you're bumping inside of the 4 hour window.

There are many trades created that will push your post out of the front page of results because it's based upon initial post date/time and not latest bump in search results. The filters work as you are thinking and will bring it to the top when the latest valid bump is done. Your best bet for visibility is using proper tags relevant to your item so people find it when using the search bar.
