Didn't play D2R for a while and I'm now trying to launch the game but it just instantly crashes on the B.net launcher? any tips?



Goes to this then instantly crashes and button then says "play" again

Are you actually able to press the play button till it goes "playing now" and crashes or is it just grayed out and not even pressable at all?

Edit: image wasn't loading first, there aren't much known fixes out there but I was able to fix it by reinstalling the battle.net app once, had the same issue with the WoW client before. In case you want to try that.

seem to be up to date at least , i got same version ( 1.4.71776 )
Have you tried click the settings and then Scan and Repair?

As mentioned above I did indeed download the update but since I haven’t actually launched the game in a good few months it just won’t let me in for some reason.

Yes the play button is clickable, tries to launch it and says playing now then a windowed screen appears but just disappears after a few seconds and goes back to “play” without any error message

Tried that just now and it did not work

Maybe you're defaulting to your iGPU instead of dedicated.
Try disable iGPU and see if you can launh successfully

Uninstallation done and fixed my issue after reinstalling.
