The way I do it is I got verified and use google chrome so I can just use this little button.

When using Imgur on the phone, it does only provide one link as you stated, unfortunately. I personally prefer to use https://imgbb.com/ for phone uploading. There, it does give you options to adjust the link to BBCode or other formats based on your need.
