One must crawl before one can walk and walk before one can run.

You probably have to get some fg, make a few more Comments, and/or spend some more time around the site.

Pretty sure this kind of thing helps prevent new accounts spamming posts.

First and foremost welcome to JSP. The 2 week restriction is to allow for you to explore the website + review the rules. It's also a preventative measure to slow down the rate of scammers reoffending. Often times banned users will make fresh accounts to scam again, the 2 week restriction helps dissuade them.
