picante sauce is a salsa sauce you use for dipping the problem is the can is really old and i dont want to get botulism from eating old canned food

so has anyone had this issue before and is it safe to eat?

Hi Wise,

I highly recommend not putting expired products on your food, if you have any further questions on this reach out to your primary doctor.

I advise you not to eat things that are several months after the expiry date. This is quite a long time and can result in food poisoning

like with most food, try to smell it. if it still smells good i would taste a tiny bit of it. if nothings seems suspicious its probably still good. just dont try this with anything like egg/meat in it, check the ingredients for anything that might be problematic :)
also only do this with food that says "best by date" and not "use by date" as these contain some ingredients that can be problematic.
